Happy Sunday

Sometimes we have so much that we forget to pray

Sometimes we have so little that we forget to pray

Sometimes we are in such balance in life that we forget to pray

Sometimes we lose our faith and we forget to pray

A woman said one day

That she had a mustard seed

A mustard seed of faith

That tiny speck of faith

Had carried her

Had carried her so far

Sometimes we have so much that we do give our thanks

Sometimes we have so little that we do make our pleas

Sometimes we are in such balance in life that we pray even more

Sometimes we pray that we do not lose our faith

Jesus  said one day

That one of a mustard seed

A mustard seed of faith

That tiny speck of faith

Would mountains move

And carry us so far

Sometimes we suffer large and we do make our pleas

Sometimes we suffer long and we do give our thanks

Sometimes we are so balanced that we forget to pray at all

Sometimes we pray just to let us talk to God.

Happy Sunday

When we lose a love

We grieve

We pray, but without heart

Then we have heart, but our faith is weak

Then we restore faith, but have no commitment

Then we commit, but have no heart

Then we have heart, but it is full of anger and resentment

Then we lose the anger and resentment, but our faith is weak

Then we regain our faith

And then we are better

We know that the rock and foundations of our lives are better

And then we are better

We know that the hole in our hearts  is there for a reason

And then we are better

We know that our rocks and foundations are with us

And then we are better

We know that we are glad to have had those rocks and foundations

And then we are better

And then we pray prayers of thanks again

And then we are better

We are thankful for God

And In Jesus name

And then we are better.

A psalm of David.

1 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
above the heavens.

2 From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise [b]
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?

5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings [c]
and crowned him with glory and honor.

6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:

7 all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,

8 the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

9 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Oh, Great Spirit,
whose voice I hear in the winds
and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me.
I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes
ever behold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have made
and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand
the things you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden
in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be superior to my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy – myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes,
so when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my spirit will come to you
without shame.

My God, I am yours for time and eternity.
Teach me to cast myself entirely
into the arms of your loving Providence
with a lively, unlimited confidence in your compassionate, tender pity.
Grant, O most merciful Redeemer,
That whatever you ordain or permit may be acceptable to me.
Take from my heart all painful anxiety;
let nothing sadden me but sin,
nothing delight me but the hope
of coming to the possession of You
my God and my all,
in your everlasting kingdom.

Amen.

Happy Sunday

Oh, children, don’t you weep,
If the road is long.
All of us are prayers of action,
On our way to God,
On our way to God.

Some of us are long and rambling,
Sometimes lost for years,
Some of us are small and holy,
Beautiful and clear.

Oh, children, don’t you weep,
If the road is long.
All of us are prayers of action,
On our way to God,
On our way to God.

The enlivening Spirit of God is
freely expressive in and through me.
It illumines my mind,
regenerates my body,
inspires me with creative ideas,
empowers my constructive actions,
and easily and harmoniously arranges
all of my circumstances.

Every aspect of my life is now in divine order.

O Praise the Lord,
all ye nations;
praise him, all ye people.
For his merciful kindness is great toward us;
and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever.
Praise ye the Lord.
