Happy Sunday: Faith

We live by faith when we think that we will not make it.

We thrive by faith when we think that we are to big for ourselves

Or that we are doomed to fail.

We wish for faith when we think that we are sorely tested

And time after time,

Proof after proof,

Miracles on miracles,

We see the evidence of faith

And refuse to give in

Or to give up.

From Wikipedia:

“Generally speaking, it is offered as a means by which the truth of the proposition, “things will turn out well in the end,” can be enjoyed in the present and secured in the future.

Consequently, religious faith appeals to “transcendent reality,” or that reality which is beyond the range of normal, physical human experience (e.g. the future).

“Transcendent reality,” therefore, constitutes a reality which is off limits to the rigors of scientific inquiry such as falsifiability and reproducibility.

However, atheists and agnostics criticize religious faith as superstition, categorizing it with other forms of belief that are not based on measurement of material things.”

From Dictionary.com

1.  confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another’s ability.

2.  belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.

3.  belief in god or in the doctrines or teachings of religion: the firm faith of the Pilgrims.

Let no conservative,

no bigot,

no fundamentalist,

no atheist,

no devil,

nor no fool

Become the final arbiter of our faith.

Let no manipulator

Nor hawker of religion

Steer our faith down paths of wrong.

Let no one else take over our faith

And things will turn out well in the end

To be enjoyed now

And to be secured in the future.
